'Let’s Talk Port' to Focus on Green Achievements Popular community forum returns January 21st 'Let’s Talk Port,' the Port of Long Beach’s series of community forums, will kick off its 2010 season on January 21st with an update on its signature "Green Port Policy." Executive Director Richard D. Steinke will meet with community members at the Miller Family Health Education Center, located on Cherry Avenue south of Carson Street. The traveling forum is open to the public, giving residents a chance to interact with Port representatives and more importantly give feedback on the issues that matter to them. Steinke and other Port officials will discuss the Port's environmental programs of the last five years, including the "Clean Trucks Program" that has decreased related air pollution by nearly 80 percent, and future initiatives. Participants are welcome to participate with questions and comments. Four forums are planned throughout the city in 2010, each with a unique theme. The Miller Family Health Education Center is located at 3820 Cherry Avenue, Long Beach, 90807. The forum will start at 6:30 p.m. and there will be light refreshments and giveaways for participants.
