Next ‘Let’s Talk Port’ to Focus on Career Pathways
Community forum set for February 25 at Veterans Park

Trade careers and education will be the focus of the Port of Long Beach’s next “Let’s Talk Port” community forum scheduled for 6:30 p.m., February 25, at Veterans Park in Long Beach.

The Port and its high school, college and career-counseling partners will discuss various jobs and careers in international trade, and the educational steps needed to obtain them.

Partners include the Pacific Rim Academy of Long Beach Polytechnic High School, Long Beach City College School of Trades and Industrial Technologies, FuturePorts, the Center for International Trade and Tranportation of California State University, Long Beach, and the Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network.

Veterans Park is located at 101 E. 28th St., Long Beach, 90806. The forum will start at 6:30 p.m. and there will be light refreshments and giveaways for participants.

The traveling forum is open to the public, giving residents a chance to interact with Port representatives and more importantly give feedback on the issues that matter to them. This is the second of four Let’s Talk Port forums set for this year, each with a unique theme.
