Board to Consider Hacegaba as Executive Officer Candidate is former assistant chief of staff to city prosecutor June 25, 2010The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners on Monday, June 28 will consider appointing Dr. Noel Hacegaba as the new Executive Officer to the Board.Hacegaba would succeed Acting Executive Officer to the Board Diane Jacobus, who is retiring.The Executive Officer coordinates administrative functions for the Board, ensures the Board is kept up-to-date on Port of Long Beach activities, and arranges trade missions and conferences, among other duties. With the assistance of the executive secretary, the executive officer also schedules the weekly Board meetings, prepares the agenda and supervises the transcription of minutes and history.Hacegaba is a former Assistant Chief of Staff for the Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office and more recently worked for Republic Services, the nation's second largest environmental services company. He negotiated and managed $200 million in municipal contracts for the company.A graduate of the University of Southern California, Hacegaba earned his doctorate in public administration at the University of La Verne where he now teaches public administration.
